I just returned from 3 weeks in Europe and after listening to this podcast, am ready to book another flight. The best coffee experiences in Spain, France and Italy are those that take you away from the tourist areas and into the neighborhoods where the locals frequent. One of my favorite places to go is at the Central Market in Florence where I stand up with the locals at the coffee stand across from the lampredotto case and watch others buying their food for lunch. It’s all about the entire experience.
Hey Kina – now you have got me all fired up about the Central Market..I need to go! Thanks for listening to the show, glad you enjoyed it:)
Hey Travis/Heather/Jason,
Great series – loved every single episode to date.
Coming from Melbourne, Australia I’m somewhat disappointed we didn’t get a mention. We have an amazing coffee culture here so much so that in the past 5 years there’s been a revolution in that scene with more and more artisan roasters/cafes opening up shop. In fact this sub-culture (borderline hipster) is slowly becoming mainstream and to a point even being exported to other parts of the world. Anyway if you guys ever come down this end, you’ve got to hit the Melbourne coffee scene.
Jules
Thanks for listening Jules – I would LOVE to have included Australia but I haven’t had the pleasure of getting to visit down under yet:( Being a coffee freak you’ve just given me another reason to get down there sooner than later!
Appreciate you taking the time to write and share your thoughts – thanks Jules!
