Great interview! I’ve been kicking around the quest of riding my old Vespa scooter the length of the Baja California peninsula (starting in my home town of San Diego all the way to Los Cabos. This podcast inspired me to start the planning for a two week long excursion in the coming months!
Thanks Derek! A vespa scooter..man that sounds absolutely epic. Since I had a bad link during the show (it’s fixed now!), plus your quest sounds epically fun, it looks like you’ve got this book giveaway all locked up! Send me your address to [email protected] and I’ll send you the book:)
Guillebeau’s book, The $100 Startup, is a great book and inspiring read. Something that stood out to me in the interview was is his comment about people who successfully take on quests will typically be the type to write up and execute a list. If you want to take it to the next level, hand your list off to a close friend for an additional layer of accountability. I have a lot of quests in mind, but I’ve always wanted to get an old canoe or kayak and paddle the Mississippi river from north to south. As always, great podcast, Jason. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening Chris! Great point on the $100 startup, thanks for sharing. It’s been awhile since I’ve read that book, I need to give it another read:)
I always adore listening to your podcast and I was so excited to hear Chris’ story. It gave me a kick in the butt to book my ticket to Munich for 10 weeks of travel throughout Central and Eastern Europe. I cannot wait for next March so that I can fulfill one of my lifelong travel dreams/quests. Thanks again for always having the best guests, great information, and keeping me excited to explore as much as I can.
Thank you so much for listening and your kind words made me smile. Sounds like you have an amazing trip planned for yourself in March! Can’t wait to hear about it:)
