“The price you see on Skyscanner is the price on the airline’s site.” Well, that’s a time saver, isn’t it? This site is great because you can select “everywhere” as your destination to see flights to any destination. But don’t listen to me, try it out now, you travel junkie you…
BrowseDiscount Airlines
Once I land on a continent, I like to use low-cost carriers for my inter-country and inter-continent flights. Another way to lock in a cheap flight is to grab a ticket to a major airline hub nearby and then jump on a low-cost carrier to your final destination.
BrowseGoogle Flights
Google Flights is a simplified version of the ITA Matrix and it’s owned by Google. This one might be more up your street if you’re new to looking for the best travel deals.
BrowseKayak
Kayak is one of my favorite sites for looking for flights. It’s usually at the top of my list if I just want to do a quick flight search.
BrowseAirline Hubs
This is a list of the hubs that airlines use as transfer points. You can use it to figure out how to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars by planning your route around these hubs. For example, if you were flying to Australia, you could check this list and see that you could book a flight to Bangkok, Thailand on a major carrier and then book a flight with Air Asia – a popular low-cost carrier – to take you the rest of the way.

BrowseTripAdvisor
We all use Tripadvisor to an extent, but be cautious here. There are two things that happen on Tripadvisor: 1. You end up at a great place because the reviews are legit. 2. You end up at a terrible place because the marketing is good. Also, bear in mind that a place isn’t necessarily no good simply because it’s not on Tripadvisor. In fact, a lot of kick ass local spots are NOT on Tripadvisor.
